Hair today, gone tomorrow?

First thing is first. I have an appointment with a new hair gal on Tuesday. I am about 8 weeks over-due for my cut. I love my hair, it is the one thing that usually doesn't fail me. But I wonder if it is too long, too matronly, me trying to look young. So here is the question, and I seriously need opinions. I can either just trim it up, thin it out. OR I can donate the length of it to Locks for love. I think if I did this it would be cut up to my chin. I get butterflies in my stomach even thinking about it. I have had my hair short, long, blonde, blonder and the natural brown it is now. It will grow back, but will I be too old to really have it long? Let me know your experiences, your opinions. I am going in on Tuesday.

This week has been a little busy. I think because I am having a hard time catching up on things. And when I was adding things to my calendar today, I realized that this past week was mild compared to what we have coming.

As you know, my mom and I got 25 nursing aprons to go up to Swiss Days in Midway, UT for Friday and Saturday. I friend who has amazing jewelry has a booth up there each year. She asked us to help her fill in a bit. So, a couple of friends and I went up on Friday. Taunya's booth looked amazing. I will get some pics. Her booth was also PACKED! She really does have such great jewelry, so unique and creative. She called last night (Saturday) and told Dave that most of her jewelry sold (about 600 pieces I think) and that I had sold 11 aprons. Which is great. I didn't have many expectations. It is her booth, her main concern was her jewelry and bags. On friday when I was up there talking to her husband, they had previously told me that 11 had already sold. So I went to count and see what was left and was teasing him that he had gotten my hopes up because there were still 21 left. He really did think 11 had sold. Anyway, this lady hearing this conversation says to me " Gosh, why would you buy it anyway? You are already carrying around so much. I used a blanket, or nothing. It is Utah by the way." What does that mean? That Utahns bare all? Fine, if they do, fine if you do, but I would say most don't. I don't mind people breastfeeding in public. I do all the time, just covered. So I just look at her, smile and say "Really, nothing? I just don't want to scare anyone away because of my boobs". Then I pointed out, I don't know why I even bothered, that using a blanket is great but this apron goes around your neck you aren't always pulling and tugging, it is light-weight, can be used to shade the baby, can be used as a changing pad just in case, can be used.... I don't even know why I bothered. Enough about it, but for some reason I am still bugged.

E is all about having friends over, it is the first thing that comes out of his mouth in the morning. And then he tells me how they will get here, what they will do, how they will feel. Apparently, on this day, they were feeling quite powerful. He will come out of his room in his costume (or alter ego) and say "Mama, I am dressed like Mr. Incredible, but I am still E, don't call me Mr. Incredible, or Mr. E Incredible or..." There are rules.

On Friday night I was catching up on blogs when Miss C comes down. She is struggling with sleep lately, which has NEVER been a problem for her (well, it has, but at least she was contained and never tried to get out of her crib). She is in a twin sized bed now, and for the first 2 weeks, no problem. Now, there are monsters, don't close her door, "I'm awake", on and on and on. I might have to have Molly and Amanda come over and tell her about the gypsies. Anyway, at the time I was reading Paige's blog and scrolled down to a picture of P and C instantly knew who it was. This pic is C holding a paper that says "Hi Paigie" but she would hold it out so she could see it, not the camera. I kept trying to get her in bed, but she kept schmoozing me.

One thing in my yard that always lets me know fall is here is one of my clemati (what is the plural for clematis?). It blooms every fall, usually September. This year it is so big that it pulled all the netting and twine off of the house. I still need to figure out how to reattach it without ruining the blooms. It is big and heavy. That is one project for tomorrow (with D, I hope.)

Don't forget to let me know about my hair, I need input.

well as someone who keeps cutting her hair to shoulder length and then wanting it long I think keep it long it looks gorgeous! your hair has such a beautiful colour...is that natural! gorgeous! hubby likes long hair so I'm growing mine.....you could always donate some money or cut it halfway to what you think! I just know my hair is taking an age to grow

I love miss caroline being cheeky...keira knows how to stay up late already and get her own way and who can resist little kisses and hugs! cute photos!

If you one day wake up and can't find Caroline, I might have taken her. I don't know what it is about her, but I have this extra little place in my heart for her. I am a sucker for my nieces and I made an extra spot for her. When I met her she was my new best friend. She let me hold her and she was all affectionate and sweet. Don't let her forget me. I absolutely love little Caroline.

I forgot to add that I am having the same issue with my hair. I think my hair is too long and boring, so I want you to cut yours so I can vicariously live through you. I think I am going to cut mine too though. I feel like I have the same hair as I did in high school. You have such great hair that it will look great either way. But I think a little bob would look way cute on you.

I remember your hair in college when it was that short a-line bob and was blond - LOVED that! That said, I love short hair on everyone and often try it myself, but when I feel chubby, I can't pull it off. You aren't chubby, so that's not a concern, but your hair is very beautiful. I say either go big and cut it, or just add some layers and do something dramatic with long bangs or something.

Whit, I'm no help with the hair issue but I can say that your kiddos are darling! So fun to see what you and they look like. And I'm telling you, the gypsies thing is still working at our house so give it a try! :)

Ok, thanks for all the advice. I still have no idea what to do and because this is my first visit with this gal... who knows. My cousin told me to call her if I cut it off (which she is advocating) but not if I don't. Hmph. It's not that big of deal, it's not that big of deal, it's not that big of deal......

I am having the same issue with my hair!!! EXcept I'm not just bored, mine is actually really ugly. I need a new do and fast!! Your hair would look cute even if you ratted it and cut huge 80s bangs. Go with your instincts on this one.
Those pics of you and CW are the cutest ever. you need to frame them.
We are back and want to see you asap!!
one more ps: ben read the joe blog post and we have lots more - keep checking it.

Ok, I don't know you that well at all - so does that mean I can be totally honest? Yup.. lol
Honesty is best policy right...
ok, if you are close to 40 years old, or over - then cut it as it will most certainly age you, long locks may be gorgeous on the young but can look not so good on middle aged ladies. From the pics I saw, i think you would look stunning with shoulder length hair - as opposed to long hair being tied back and stretched away from the face, or dangling aimlessly. GO FOR IT, be brave - It will uplift you and make you look years younger!! CUT CUT CUT LOL
Hope you didn't mind me babble...
